The next permanent bid will be released later this month. The bid will include an A330 position in PHL. Training classes for successful bidders will begin in January. Approximately 30 pilots per aircraft will be needed to staff the A330.
Internal ALPA sources report that company hiring in year 2000 is planned to include 400 pilots. The training rate for 2000 will be approximately two classes per month of 15 pilots per class.
Management has written letters to 23 pilots in their first year of employment requesting additional background information. These pilots are scheduled to appear in the various Chief Pilot offices during the next two weeks.
DCA based pilots are reminded that the "Small Jet" roadshow will be in DCA on Wednesday, November 10. The roadshow will begin at 14:00. The meeting will be held at the Crystal City Marriott.
