MEC Chairman Chris Beebe was contacted Monday afternoon by Mr. Gangwal who postponed today's meeting. Mr. Gangwal conveyed that the intent of the meeting was to focus on the fragile state of the company, and that the meeting would not take place until after the AFA negotiations are concluded. [This captures the essence of the conversation and should not be considered a quote]. There will be no meeting today.
The Special MEC Meeting held on Monday and called by PIT and BOS was adjourned at 10:45 PM. The MEC spent over 8 hours editing a three page Negotiating Committee Contract Briefing which was to accompany the ballot on the Interim Small Jet Agreement (LOA #79). Those that called the meeting presented a much less informative "neutralized" version of the same document, which reduced the briefing to about one page of information.
In the end and after 8 hours of MEC debate and editing, the briefing document was changed slightly from the original. It will now be sent out as a letter from MEC Chairman Chris Beebe instead of as a Negotiating Committee Contract Briefing. Watch for this shortly.
