The retirement calculator allows the user to determine a retirement benefit both with and without the contractual additions of age and/or service permitted by the recently negotiated early-out benefit.
The PBGC rate can be set at either 4.5% (rate as of this writing) or 5.25%. Setting at a rate of 5.25% will provide a calculation for the "worst case" senario for the early-out program. You should know that 120% of a PBGC rate of 5.25% is 6.30%.This rate is actually about .05% higher than the highest rate that can be charged under the early-out program (6.25%). The Company has provided you with an estimated calculation at 6.25% which is 120% of a PBGC just under 5.25%.
This has only been tested with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 and Netscape Navigator 4.03 and 4.04 with the JDK 1.1 patch! Download time can vary, but expect some delay (sometimes over 5 minutes) for the calculator to load in your web browser.
The best way to use the calculator is to download it, then run all the calculations you want during the same session. Just use the "clear" button to start over.
